Application · 2D robot guidance

2D guidance when presentation is stable enough.

Find, orient and correct in-plane, for nests, trays, conveyors and pick & place where height variation stays limited. Sedeco supplies camera, lighting, software and the link to cobot or industrial robot.

Cobot pick and place with 2D vision

Problem

The robot needs to know where the part is, without teaching every piece by hand.

With fixed or lightly varying presentation, 2D is often faster, cheaper and easier to maintain than 3D.

Who it is for

Machine builders, manufacturers and integrators with controlled product presentation.

Typical jobs

Pick & place, placement correction, presence before grasp, 2D pose on conveyor.

Limits

Strong height, shape or bin variation usually needs 3D, or bin picking.

Approach

Application first: lighting and presentation before algorithms

We validate contrast, lens choice and fixturing on real samples. Then we couple pose or offsets to the robot controller, with PLC handshake when the cell requires it.

Technology

Smart camera or PC-based 2D; classical tools and AI where variation demands it.

Integration

Coordinates or offsets to cobot/industrial robot; I/O to PLC or MES.

Delivery

Components & advice, integration into your cell, or full-service to a working station.

Feasibility before commitment

Suitability depends on presentation, takt, reflections and tolerance. Send samples or a cell description, we will say honestly whether 2D holds, or whether 3D or bin picking is more realistic.
