Barcode recognition
A ring scanner reads the barcode around the product path, so the container does not need to enter the machine in a fixed rotational position.
Camera systems for reverse vending machines
A reverse vending machine needs to recognise containers even when the barcode or label is not presented in a fixed position. We develop camera systems for barcode, security-logo and shape recognition, suitable for both single-feed and bulk-feed machines.
360° barcode readingExperience in daily operation
Sedeco is a DPG-certified supplier of camera systems for Germany's deposit return system. Our cameras read the barcode and verify the dedicated DPG logo on the label. This logo is a security mark and therefore requires a separate optical check.
We also supply camera systems for shape recognition. Thousands of Sedeco systems have been installed in Germany and elsewhere in Europe. Almost all systems supplied during this period are still in operation.
Recognition inside the RVM
The right camera system depends on the deposit scheme and the containers the machine must accept. Barcode reading usually identifies the product. Security-logo verification and shape recognition can add the checks required for acceptance.
A ring scanner reads the barcode around the product path, so the container does not need to enter the machine in a fixed rotational position.
Dedicated illumination and imaging verify scheme-specific security marks, including the DPG logo.
The camera records relevant container dimensions and contours as additional information for the recognition decision.
Additional RVM technology
Camera systems are our established core technology. We also work on the product transport, sorting, processing and software around the camera. This helps us discuss the interfaces with the machine builder in practical terms.
For bulk-feed applications, we have a working prototype that combines these functions in a compact layout with accessible areas for cleaning. The prototype is available for technical review.
Discuss your application
The suitable configuration depends on the deposit scheme, the range of containers and the available space in the machine. Required interfaces and the way containers move past the camera also affect the optical design.
We can help you compare the available recognition methods and discuss the camera, illumination, mechanics and software interface for your machine.
