Application · Smart camera

Smart-camera applications for standardised jobs.

Sensor, processing and often optics in one housing, for OCR, codes, presence, positioning and simple QC when the task is stable and fast deployment matters.

Industrial smart camera hardware

1 · Problem

You want a reliable vision task without a heavy cabinet

Standard inspection or ID jobs need to commission quickly, with operators who can manage recipes in a GUI.

Who it is for

Machine builders, manufacturers and integrators with stable SKUs and clear pass/fail.

Conditions

Known codes/poses, limited defect variation, one image per task.

Limits

Multi-camera orchestration, heavy AI or hard real-time robot loops often need PC-based.

2–4 · Approach & technology

Application first: on-board tools when they hold

We select smart camera, lens and lighting on samples and takt. Classical tools first; light on-board AI only when it helps measurably.

Technology

Smart camera / smart reader, LED lighting, brackets, Vision Master or equivalent.

Integration

Digital I/O or fieldbus to PLC; result as pass/fail or string.

Suitable for

Code reading, OCR, presence, simple assembly, positioning.

Integration · Feasibility · Delivery

Feasibility and how Sedeco delivers

Suitability depends on contrast, motion and how tight the loop to the machine must be. We say honestly when you should step up to PC-based.

Feasibility

Samples under line conditions, decode rate or defect visibility before commitment.

Delivery

Components & advice, integration into your cell, or a full-service station.

Next step

Share the job, takt and photos, or start with the Smart vs PC decision frame.

Does a smart camera fit your job?

Describe the task and send a photo, we will say whether smart is enough, or PC-based is more realistic.
