Resolution is the number of pixels in the image. The required field of view and the smallest detail that must be visible determine the choice.
Available: 1600 × 1216, 2432 × 2048, 3200 × 1920, 4096 × 2816 and 4096 × 2944 pixels.

50 variants
Which MV-SC5000 do you need?
The 50 variants differ in resolution, monochrome or colour, lens mount, focal length, shutter type and frame rate. Below you can see what each item means and which choices are available.
Monochrome or colour
Choose colour when a colour difference is part of the inspection. Monochrome is usually sufficient for shape, position, text, edges and brightness differences.

Lens mount and focusing
The lens choice determines the field of view and how focus is adjusted.
- M12: fixed lens, mechanical focusing.
- D14 liquid lens: electrical focusing without turning the lens.
- C-mount: interchangeable lens.
Focal length
With the same sensor and working distance, a shorter focal length gives a wider field of view. A longer focal length gives a narrower field of view.
Available: 6, 8, 12 and 16 mm. C-mount models use an interchangeable lens.
Frame rate and shutter type
The frame rate states how many images the camera can capture per second at most. A global shutter captures the entire image at once. A rolling shutter reads the image line by line.
Available: a maximum of 10, 15, 30, 60 or 100 fps, depending on the model. Global-shutter and rolling-shutter models are available.
Processing and machine connection
The camera processes images with VisionMaster. The family specifications list 8 GB memory, 64 GB storage, Gigabit Ethernet and a deep-learning module.
Listed connections: digital I/O, TCP, UDP, Modbus, serial communication, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Fins, MC and FTP.

Frequently asked questions
These answers apply to the MV-SC5000 family. Always check the specifications of the exact model before making the final choice.
Does the SC5000 run the inspection itself?
Yes. The camera captures the image and processes it with VisionMaster. The result is sent to the machine or PLC through digital I/O or a supported industrial protocol.
Is a higher resolution always better?
No. The resolution must provide enough pixels for the field of view and the smallest relevant detail. More resolution than required does not automatically improve the inspection.
When do I need colour?
When a colour difference is part of the pass-fail decision. A monochrome model can be sufficient for checks based on shape, position, text or brightness contrast.
What does the D14 liquid lens do?
The liquid lens focuses electrically. No manual adjustment at the lens is required. The necessary focus range depends on the working distances in the application.
When should I choose a global shutter?
When there is movement during exposure. A global shutter captures the entire image at once. A rolling shutter reads the image line by line and can suit a stationary or slow-moving product.
Can every feature be combined?
No. The 50 models form a fixed range. Resolution, monochrome or colour, lens mount, focal length, shutter type and frame rate are defined for each model.
