Image formation
Resolution, mono/color and shutter type set the basic imaging boundary. Pixel size, sensor size, exposure range and frame rate remain SKU specifications.

Agree measurable acceptance criteria with representative parts before fixing the camera configuration.
Use measured production data rather than nominal camera specifications.
Selection question
Too little image detail hides small defects; unsuitable shutter behaviour introduces motion distortion. Interface, frame rate, housing and optics then determine whether the selected camera can be integrated at the required cycle time.
Calculate the required pixels across the smallest feature and define the field of view. Choose mono or color and global or rolling shutter from the motion and contrast requirements. Then check interface bandwidth, performance tier, form factor and optical configuration.
Resolution, mono/color and shutter type set the basic imaging boundary. Pixel size, sensor size, exposure range and frame rate remain SKU specifications.
GigE, USB 3.0 and XoCLink differ in bandwidth, cable arrangement, power and host requirements. Validate the complete connection and trigger path.
BASE, PRO, MAX and MINI are supplied product classes. Compare frame rate, I/O, power, dimensions and environmental limits for the selected SKU.
Most models use the standard configuration. Specific SKUs include a 16 mm liquid lens, white light and lens cover. Treat that as a fixed supplied configuration.
The selector contains only the 111 existing combinations. It does not generate a full matrix of resolutions, interfaces, tiers and optical options.

Selection questions
These answers cover the 111 listed MV-CT variants. Check the specifications and mechanical drawing of the exact model before completing the camera, optics, cabling and enclosure design.
The family provides ten pixel dimensions from 720 × 540 to 5472 × 3648. Base the choice on the full field of view and the smallest feature that must remain visible. Divide the field width by the horizontal pixel count for a first millimetres-per-pixel estimate, include a practical safety margin and test with representative good and rejected samples. Resolution alone does not define image quality or inspection reliability.
Choose colour when colour itself contributes to the inspection decision. Monochrome is usually the direct choice for geometry, edges, position, text and brightness contrast. The family contains both versions across many resolutions, but colour or monochrome cannot be combined with every interface, tier and optical configuration.
GigE models list GigE Vision V2.0 and GenICam, with 9 to 24 VDC and PoE support. USB models list USB3 Vision and GenICam, with 9 to 24 VDC and support for power through USB 3.0. The six MINI models use XoCLink and list power over coaxial cable (PoC). Select the interface together with the host hardware, cable route, power design, data rate and maintenance requirements.
The listed BASE models are 29 × 29 mm and specify IP40. PRO keeps the 29 × 29 mm cross-section and specifies IP67. MAX is 42 × 42 × 43 mm, specifies IP67 and includes the models that can be supplied with integrated optics and lighting. MINI is 29 × 29 × 33 mm, uses XoCLink and specifies IP40. The stated protection applies only with the prescribed lens or lens cap installation and wiring.
Thirteen MAX variants combine a 16 mm liquid lens, white illumination and a lens cover. This reduces the number of separate optical components and allows electrical focusing. It is suitable only when the resulting field of view, working distance, focus range and white-light response fit the application. Standard optical configurations remain available when separate optics or lighting are required.
No. The range consists of 111 fixed combinations. Depending on the exact model and operating mode, the listed maximum frame rate runs from 5.9 to 249 fps. The family includes global-shutter and rolling-shutter sensors, and some GigE maxima require lossless compression. Select an existing SKU first, then verify its full-resolution frame rate, shutter type, interface, dimensions, protection rating and power requirements.
